About Meg

I have always had a burning curiosity in me about how the world works. I can remember being a little girl and trying to figure out the dynamics and roles in my home and the social interactions of those arond me. As I grew up, this fascination continued as I focused on understanding others, building empathy, and connections. Over the years, I continued to seek after explanations and an understanding of not only myself but also of others around me and what makes us all tick.

My love for psychology flourished organically and then through my own therapeutic work as I began to see the real value this field offers in the potential for personal understanding, healing, and growth. I learned the hard fight of what it takes to truly change, and what it entails to do the work. I was fortunate to have a wonderful Adlerian therapist who believed in me, saw my true self, and encouraged me. This connection inspires the therapist I am today!

With the realization that psychology was my passion, I decided to enroll in school once again, and I completed my Honours in Psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa in 2012.

Soon after, I moved to Toronto to complete a Masters of Psychology at the Adler Graduate School. During my Masters, I dove further into my deep interest in relationships and completed my thesis in exploring what makes long term relationships successful. I trained extensively in Adlerian psychotherapy methods which included working with grief, trauma, parenting, development, the art of encouragement, workplace relationships, family dynamics, early childhood narratives, managing life transitions, art therapy, motivation, and couples. I implememnted my training and education in Adlerian psychotherapy techniques while growing as a student therapist in private practice.

For the past 9 years, I have continued my work in private practice and have developed a strong client base. My love for education and knowledge advances as I continue to train in methods by experts around the world such as the Gottman couples counselling method, trauma informed therapies (polyvagal theory), emotion focused therapy, and Esther Perel's Clinical Sessions. I am currently focusing in on becoming a certified RLT therapist, which focuses on couples therapy.

I am also honoured to be a faculty member at the Adler Graduate School. I have taught Adlerian therapeautic techniques to second year Psychology graduate students. In addition to private practice and being a faculty member, I run parenting workshops that focus on helping parents with education on development, positive discipline, and enabling parents with tools to help through day to day and challenging situations.

Any client who works with me can expect that I will strive to create an alliance and a therapeutic relationship. Just as my therapist did for me, I will seek to truly understand who you are, encourage you, challenge you, and believe in you through whatever you are moving through.
